Quilt finally done!

I finally took pictures of my first finished quilt! I am really happy with it and thoroughly enjoyed the whole process. I just love this Urban Chiks 1974 fabric line. I decided to just do straight line quilting in the sashing and the border. I found the squares looked better without quilting inside them, I think the quilted sashing sets them off. I pieced the back with large pieces of several of the top fabrics. I love pieced backs. I am not crazy with how the binding turned out, I cut it on the bias and should have cut it on the grain so the polka dots would look right. I am already piecing the top of another quilt for my mom, I think many more quilts will be in my future : )

Back of the quilt.

Hi Tonya, I just had to write to tell you what an amazing job you have done on your first quilt! I can hardly believe you haven't quilted before, but being a good seamstress does help! :).....You have inspired me to get quilting again!....Wishing you a lovely weekend!.....Your friend, Heidi XO

How pretty! I love it! I especially like all of the stitching in between that quilts it...am I even saying that right? You know what I mean...I'm seriously getting closer to trying to do my first quilt. Nothing fancy, just a small one with a bunch of squares. Hope all is well there!

That is beyond beautiful! Really, really gorgeous. And yay for you for actually finishing it. (My one and only attempt at a large quilt is still sitting unfinished 7 years later!)

The quilt looks great!
I'm glad you are feeling better. When I was pregnant for my oldest, I felt like I slept the clock around, and when I wasn't sleeping, I was sick.
But, after that first couple months, I loved being pregnant.
Have a great day!

Hi there! I have been waiting to see your finished quilt. I made a (much, much simpler) quilt out of the same fabric from a layer cake. It was my first try at quilting but I just love the fabric so much! Your quilt is absolutely beautiful!

I'm so glad to hear you're feeling better. I was getting kind of worried there for a while.
